Meet Jodie - Your Guide to Nature and Wellness

Jodie Armstrong-Downes

My roots connect me to the Caribbean, Britain, and now to the lush landscapes of Northland, Aotearoa.

My love for travel and nature has been with me since childhood. Growing up in rural areas and exploring the world from a young age, I’ve always been fascinated by the wild beauty of the land. I’ve learned from local guides in remote places—like Nicaragua’s volcanic jungles, Madagascar’s rainforests and reefs, and here in Aotearoa—deepening my understanding of nature’s wisdom.

With my Forest and Nature Therapy Guide certification, along with studies in land practices and a long journey with holistic health, I’ve cultivated a deep respect for the healing and restorative power of nature. These experiences shape my approach to eco-conscious travel, guiding others to reconnect with themselves and the Earth.

I am proud to be part of a new wave of Forest Bathing practitioners guiding people into the forest and back into authentic connection—both with nature and within themselves.

Today, I blend nature therapy, mindfulness, and luxury wellness to create memorable experiences for those seeking a unique way to explore the forest. As a trained facilitator, I lead nature immersion experiences for local communities and families, passionate about supporting the role of green prescriptions in health and wellbeing.
